Briefly about the School

For whom – journalists, activists, NGO representatives who have experience or are planning to engage in anti-corruption investigations.

Our goal is to have 50 independent investigators in the community who will conduct anti-corruption investigations, monitor how and where the money goes, where price gouging is possible, and who is appointed to positions that are being rebuilt.

The community provides further mentoring, support and opportunities for participants.

Organizers – is organized by the IZI Anti-Corruption Center in partnership with the CHESNO Movement, the Statewatch think tank, the Anti-Corruption Action Center, the Fiscal Policy Research Center with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.

December 9-15, 2023 – 5 days of intensive offline training from well-known investigative journalists and experts in the field of anti-corruption and public control. 40 hours of training from top trainers, networking, mentoring and the opportunity to conduct your own investigation.

The program includes workshops, lectures, and practical cases, after which participants will learn

  • how to monitor procurement and identify “eggs by 17”
  • how to build your own investigation, where to get topics and information
  • how to work with YouControl and get full access to the data
  • how to check information on salaries and other budget expenditures using Spending, Open Budget, etc
  • what anti-corruption control and participation tools are available for the public
  • how to search for information in the budget, monitoring of reconstruction costs
  • how to document damages and how the register of traitors can be useful
  • how to prepare analytical material based on declarations
  • how DREAM will help to control each stage of reconstruction
  • how to communicate to be heard and develop a personal brand.
