This summer, the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the Ukrainian Catholic University, together with the Simons Foundation and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, managed to organize a large-scale Summer School in Data Science.
Professors from Princeton University, Northwestern University, University of Minnesota, Columbia University, Ukrainian Catholic University, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will spend a week teaching and discussing with participants the application of data science in physics, biology, astrophysics, cybersecurity, public finance, and other sciences. This will be followed by several months of team research.
The school was aimed at more experienced researchers, and 50 participants with very different profiles were selected from more than 120 applications – from astrophysicists and biologists to machine learning specialists, etc.
